  • Learn to Love Your Least Favorite Class

    By Brandon
    Freshman at STEM

Is it possible to make your least favorite subject in school more interesting and fun? Yes it is!! Almost everyone who has attended school before has that one subject that they hate the most. Whether it is math, English, science, or some other class, there is a way to make it fun for everyone. In this blog I am going to give you tips on how to make a disliked subject more fun and exciting for you and your friends.

Everyone has different opinions on their least favorite subject. Mine happens to be mathematics. This subject is probably the most disliked subject among teenagers. My first tip is to keep practicing the work. If you keep practicing it will become easy and fun because you can solve the problem fast and be able to beat other people in races or competitions. Plus, when you solve the problem correctly the first time you also get the satisfaction and excitement of conquering the problem.

    math 2

A lot of times when I walk into a classroom everyone is down and in the dumps because it is math time. My second tip is to have a positive attitude about going to your least favorite subject’s class. Go in the room happy. I promise that you will perform better with a positive attitude. If you do, it will not only help you but it will also rub off on your peers and they too will be coming in with a positive attitude.

Some of my past teachers have played games with the class to make that subject fun and exciting. My third tip is to make a game with the problems you are struggling with. In math class, my teacher puts up problems on the board and we answer them with buzzers or whiteboards. This allows the game to help us with math and relieve the stress from school. Another great feature while you are playing is that competition rises up in the class and it makes you want to beat the other players and call yourself the champion. Some games that my teachers have used are: Jeopardy, Bingo, the original answer the question on the whiteboard, and of course my favorite, Trash Ball Trivia. Trash ball trivia is a game where you have to shoot a tape ball into a trash can from a certain distance. If you succeed you get a point for your team. The only way you can shoot the ball is to get the answer right. This can also help you on tests.

In the end it doesn’t matter what subject you’ve struggled with or just completely hate. If you stick to it and use these tips I’m sure your experience will change. You need to always keep in mind that if you keep practicing in any subject you will be able to solve a problem right and eventually be able to solve it in a matter of seconds. Remember that if you are having trouble in a subject you can always use these tips: keep practicing, have a positive attitude, and make a game to go along with the subject’s problems. They will help get you through your situation.
